The purpose of this project is to create a terrace area located next
to an existing café in the de la Rive Camp Site in Biscarrosse (AQUITAINE).
An outdoor covered area is achieved which can be used to extend the
café, since in addition to the canvas roof, there will also be a perimeter
enclosure of aluminium and glass carpentry.
Our job is to position the canvas roof on a wooden structure. Said
structure is sloping to one side, but has curves all around its length.
The canvas is cordoned around the perimeter, and onto the horizontal
beams.
In addition, the cordoning is hidden by perimeter upholstery of a
skirting installed previously.
The wooden structure is built out of beams and pillars of different
sizes. Said structure has a front hight of about 9 m, while the back part is 4
m high. Between these 2 frames, separated by a distance of 36 m, the beams of
the structure run in curves, both in the X and in the Y direction.
The roof, made of white 702 8604S2 fabric, is fully cordoned to the
perimeter with a rubber cord, to hooks installed beforehand. It is also
cordoned to the horizontal beams making up the frame, but in this case with
nylon rollers.
Moreover, to keep the eyelets, rubber cord and hooks out of sight,
an outer skirting has been soldered, to upholster against a wooden batten that
runs around the perimeter.
