A GRANDSTAND THAT TRANSFORMS THE SPECTATOR EXPERIENCE
This project is part of the first phase of the renovation works at Visit Mallorca Estadi, which included the remodelling and construction of the new "Sol" grandstand. It features a roof of approximately 6,000 m² that shelters 6,500 spectators, offering a spectacular panoramic view of the pitch. The textile cladding was supplied and installed to cover the canopy above the east stand of the stadium. The canopy has overall dimensions of 48 m x 190 m and is composed of 14 trusses, each 34 m long, forming 13 bays with 6 arches each. This metal structure serves as the base for the textile roof, which consists of 43 independent tensioned membranes of various sizes, distributed as follows: 13 membranes over arches, 28 under the trusses, and 2 side membranes.
TECHNICAL BASIS
The textile roof is made of polyester fabric coated with PVC on both sides (Atlas art. 760 type IV - TFL by Sattler) and consists of 43 independent tensioned membranes of various dimensions, distributed as follows: 13 membranes over arches, 28 membranes under trusses, and 2 side membranes. The total membrane surface area is approximately 6,252 m², with a projected surface area of 5,910 m². Each membrane is manufactured in a single piece and is fixed along its perimeter to the metal substructure using a clamping system with white lacquered aluminium profiles (RAL 9010) and stainless steel straps. For the large membranes between the trusses, the fabric is also fixed to the arches using white lacquered aluminium profiles (RAL 9010), and reinforced with galvanised steel cables anchored at their ends to the metal structure.
