At IASO we specialise in covering establishments with our solutions. One of our most recurrent applications is the covering of Shopping Centres, such as the Imaginalia shopping centre in Albacete, with a structure under tension, and the Islazul shopping centre in Madrid with ETFE cushions. This year, 2019, we have undertaken the coverage of another large shopping centre, Lillenium.
The Shopping Centre was covered with a metal structure of arches between which 77 ETFE cushions were installed, each formed of 2 transparent sheets. Thanks to this application, 77% of the centre will have natural lighting.
The purpose of this project in Lille, France, has been to go beyond the commercial function of any shopping centre. The aspiration has been to create a real place of life, dedicated to the neighbourhood and its inhabitants. Lillenium offers the users in Lille a playful, educational and cultural space for families. The shopping centre will be split into two spaces, one for children from 2 to 7 years old and the other for children from 5 to 12 years old.
The shopping centre will meet criteria which respect the environment. A real roof which guarantees an optimum supply of natural light under shelter.
